Compost for Kensington Block Party

Compost for Brooklyn folks are inviting everyone to help them celebrate the opening of their compost garden this coming Sunday, July 25th, 2 PM to 6 PM. Newkirk Avenue & East 8th Street. Here is a sampling of what to expect, more on their website:

* volunteer in the garden (email compostforbrooklyn@gmail.com)
* listen to live music by local artists
* check out the Solar Bucket
* sip lemonade
* learn about indoor and outdoor composting methods
* kids cook with chef Miriam Garron
* meet your neighbors!

    I love this! I live around the corner on Newkirk and Ocean Parkway and these guys are really nice… not to mention good to see some of the ditmas park goodness spill across Coney Island near my neck of the woods. This new spot plus the charter school being built across the way are a couple of exciting developments!
