El Pollo Rancherito: a long overdue review
Wednesday, April 20th, 2011
In 2010, El Pollo Rancherito moved from a small space on Ditmas Ave and East 5th Street to the larger and much nicer premises at 115 Ditmas Ave. They have a bar and dance floor, but as always, the main attraction is the food.
I almost always get the cecina tacos sin cilantro, but the chorizo and chicken ones are also great, and no one I know has been brave enough to try their chorizo and pineapple offering. Diners get complimentary tortilla chips with red and green salsa, and the tacos also come with lime. The tacos typically come with diced onions and cilantro, though if you’re averse to it, they’ll leave it off.

They carry a nice variety of American and Mexican sodas, a diverse smoothie menu, and sell incredible-looking desserts.

El Pollo Rancherito is highly rated on yelp, they deliver, and they’ll be open this week. Their menu is online, and they take orders until about 10.
